The New Zealand Endeavour is one of the most famous maxiraters in the world. In 1993/94, she won the Whitbread Round the World Race with Grant Dalton at the helm. This is an 86 foot craft with twin masts so when all sails have been set, some 1,000 square metres of sailcloth propel her forward.She was built at Martens Marin in Auckland New Zealand, and is still in her original condition, having undergone a complete overhaul and up-grading of hull, sails, rig and instruments both this year and last. She was designed by Bruce Farr, one of the world’s top prize winners for boat design.
