This unique gaff rigged cutter was originally built in Germany in 1937 as a typical shrimper by the well known Bieritz shipyard. She was constructed of oak on oak with mast and spars of douglas pine, and was powered by sails and a small diesel engine. In 1978 she was converted for private use and a 150 hp Deutz Diesel engine was installed. In 2002 she was totally refitted and furnished for circumnavigation by the well known Danish shipyard of Christian Johnson. Every piece of wood above the wate

In Ferenc Máté's book THE WORLD'S BEST SAILBOATS, he writes that Vindö Yachts "have combined the strength and longevity of fibreglass hulls and cockpits ... with the beauty of magnificently crafted mahogany house and teak housetops and decks to create some of the prettiest yachts in the world today."
"Svea" has been kept in very good order by her current owner, with many modern upgrades, whilst keeping the look and feel of her classic lines. Her hull form gives an easy motion and the yacht h

Yachting World 5 Tonner. There are a few of these little 5 tonners about and they are very pretty looking boats. They sail very well with the bow sprit and bumpkin extending the useable sail area very well. This boat has had all necessary maintenance over recent years including a new coachroof. If you are in the market for a classic cruiser at a good price this is it! These boat details are subject to contract. Note: Offers on the asking p

I regard 23 photographs to be a noteworthy achievement considering the subject vessel revels in its sheer simplicity. Never before have I left so many boxes empty on my standard brokers form. Questions such as "does she have a shower?" or "Is there an ice-maker?" were largely left unasked. What we have instead is a simple, tra

Folkboat 25. Restored over 3 years to a good standard, this classic Folkboat has been sailed since her refit and is ready to drop back in the water and go sailing. Although I am still waiting to see a boat of this age which can honestly be described as in "excellent condition" I can say that this example is above average. Added to the fact that the price is below average and we should have a reason to start a conversatio

Wooden boat's are a thing of beauty, tradition and increasing rarity in the sailing world. This esteemed boat has been sailing for longer than many of us and manages to locate that immense feeling of simplicity sailing has been taken away from. She has what is needed and enjoys the ocean the way she's always known. See "more photos" to view 40 internal and external photos of this vessel. One of those rare wooden boats that has been kept in tremendous physical and mechanical order. This ensures that the next owner has a marvellous head start and will only need to keep on top of routine maintenance instead of embarking on a lifelong project. She genuinely is ready to sail away. Well equipped for

Trapper 28. The Trapper is well known for its competitive ability and as such is a sought after vessel. This particular boat has regularly crossed the Channel and traversed the waters around the Channel Islands, single handedly with her current owner. She is currently ashore and is rubbed back below the waterline, awaiting inspection and anti-fouling prior to re-commissioning. She is in need of a good scrub from top to bottom but is current

Albin Singoalla 34 Sloop. What a pleasant suprise, having never been onboard an Albin Singoalla before, I was expecting the usual 1970's long and thin vessel with limited headroom. Think again! Here we have a good portion of Swedish design without being constrained by compromise. A sense of volume, good headroom and an awareness of recent and ongoing expenditure to keep her up to date. Lovely wide sidedecks, controls led aft to the cockpit,

Rival 34. The
Rival 34 has always been a favourite of mine. Striking lines and awesome sailing ability she is a true blue water boat. Her quite high bow makes for a reasonably dry boat and moving along the wide decks is unhindered by standing or running rigging making for a very safe and secure feeling. Her current owner has cruised Northern Europe and the Western Channel extensively. She benefits from new upholstery and headlining although

Rival 32 Mk III. A good working example of this robust, go-anywhere cruiser. Whilst aboard taking the photographs the engine was quietly purring away in the background and I was impressed at how little vibration there was. Although these boats are not known for their fancy frippery, the saloon was nonetheless a pleasant place to spend some time and she has a Taylors diesel heater to extend the number of months you can use her. Macwester Rowan Crown. A late example of this popular and well known cruiser. In good working order and once re-rigged she will be ready to sail away (subject to either a very high tide or a lift back in to the water!). Easy on the eye and easy on the wallet, she is proof that sailing need not be the preserve of the wealthy and can be carried out on a sensible budget by enthusiastic owners. Only for sale as the current owners are giving
